![]() ![]() It is a bit faster to use: open Symantec VIP while any other app you have an extra step of selecting an entry for Fidelityįidelity has dedicated number to install VIP on a new device: 80, see this page: Other big brokerages (Schwab and E*Trade) also use Symantec VIP so it is convenient to have an authenticator for your financial accounts. I agree it is a bit annoying to have a separate app just for Fidelity but I personally have to use four different authenticator apps.īut there are a few positives about the VIP app: Overall I have a rather good experience with it. I have been using Symantec VIP with Fidelity for the last three years. Our contact information is available on our website. I also wanted to clarify that we have associates over the phone available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even on major holidays. I forwarded this as feedback to the appropriate team. The mobile apps do feature a 5,10, and 15 minute session timeout however, our website does not carry this feature. Just tap and hold on the code to copy it. Please note when entering the code while using the mobile app, you can choose to copy the code from the VIP app to your clipboard, rather than memorizing it. If you prefer to use only biometrics, you will need to disable VIP Access. ![]() If you choose to utilize VIP Access, this will require the code be entered at every login, even if you also have biometric login features enabled. Please know that we forward your interest as feedback to the appropriate team but have nothing new to announce at this time related to 2FA. Providing additional two-factor authentication (2FA) choices is a heavily requested enhancement we see from our Reddit community. Hello u/darkwolf991, thank you for your engaging with our sub. Please come up with a better solution don't be locked in with Symantec on this one. I bet traders in your office do not have this enabled internally. Please give us some option for active traders everytime getting the 2-factor authentication is annoying. Microsoft Auth is better - I have tons of companies 2-factor enabled it in and it even does icloud backup. It is not like you guys are 24/7 phone desk support for this. I have to call you guys again to get it working. I will be upgrading phone soon, I will have to call you guys again to get it setup.Worse is if I reimage my phone iOS. Worse is there is no icloud backup for the app. I have face id enabled, there should be a way to just ues that. Sometimes I am swipping between apps on ios to see the authentication number. Is there anyway to save no timeout like 8hr on the desktop or save a cookie so doesn't always ask on a trusted device.Įven on my iphone when I need to check stocks or trade on the go (I have to open the app and then memorize the number and inputted in the fidelity app - how annoying. ![]() I hate when the website times out, even though I am the only one using it - I have to open up the phone and run this app to get the code. I can tell some sales rep of Symatec convinced you/sold you guys for this but this product sucks. I like the fact you guys have 2-factor authenication but Symantec isn't the best. ![]()
